Close ups of Blood Red Carnation Burst

Our guitar's designer, Ron Kayfield,
is a veteran
guitarist who has played professionally for decades and at one
time had a recording contract with Chrysalis as a
writer/performer/guitarist with his former band 'Waysted'. When he gave up the road, he
took over a small music store and made it into a store
specializing in new, used and vintage stringed instruments.
Because of his years of experience with repairing his own
guitars, in a few short years he had established himself as
an excellent repairman in the area. After years of restoring
fine vintage instruments the next logical move was to make
a guitar. When he designed the Korinas he wanted to put
into the guitars everything he had wanted in a guitar when
he was playing out. That one guitar he had wished he had
in the studio and on the road to express his songs the way he
heard them. The BEST of every guitar he had ever played.
No need to switch guitars from song to song, because no
one guitar could get the versatility. He wanted to put to an
end the days of taking 3 & 4 guitars to a gig, two Fenders
and two Gibsons encase a string broke midway through a
set. And he did it!
There are 8 distinctly different tones at a touch and flick of the finger, to give versatility with simplicity. One volume, one tone and one toggle with the capability of achieving versatile tones through coil tapping and out of phasing. And it's all passive. No more batteries in inconvenient places that die at the most inconvenient times. He loved the guitar and so did every other guitarist who played it. Converting a die-hard Gibson fan is not easy, especially those who love the old vintage Gibson's of the 50's and early 60's. Ron loved his! |
